How do I earn characters featured in old Gauntlet Seasons?

When a characters Gauntlet season is over their Fragments will be placed into the Arena Shop for purchase.

It will take much longer to obtain a character this way so it is best to get a head start to gaining a specific Gauntlet character while their season is active!
